As you know, Wataten!: An Angel Flew Down to Me is based on a Japanese yuri manga series of the same name. Presently, the manga consists of five volumes. The latest volume has been issued on January 11, 2019, already after Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita! Season 1 kicked off. The 1st season consists of twelve episodes + an OVA episode. And even if four volumes were required for the current television adaptation, at least one more volume remained for another anime season. Yet in such a case, we will have to wait until three more volumes are released.
Wataten!: An Angel Flew Down to Me Season 1 has been mainly praised by the viewers. On MyAnimeList, the comedy anime holds a score of 7.54/10 based on about 18,000 votes, which is above average. The audience of Crunchyroll has rated the series at 4.7 stars out of 5, the figure, which looks pretty high. We thereby conclude that the target audience has been mostly satisfied with the anime series.
Finally, the BD/DVD sales indicator might shed light on the commercial value of the franchise. 3,287 copies of Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita! were sold in the first week, including 2,888 BD disks. As we may see, Wataten!: An Angel Flew Down to Me is the commercially successful franchise.
Summing up, after collecting all the data above, we conclude that Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita! has a good chance for another season. The Doga Kobo studio can't refuse the money, the franchise is capable of generating. Therefore, in our opinion, Wataten!: An Angel Flew Down to Me Season 2 is just a matter of time. The only thing we should figure out is when the 2nd installment is to be released.
Wataten!: An Angel Flew Down to Me Season 2 release date
As mentioned above, Wataten!: An Angel Flew Down to Me Season 2 is yet to be announced. Most likely, the studio Doga Kobo is still collecting data in order to make their decision. However, in the positive case scenario, we dare to assume that Wataten!: An Angel Flew Down to Me Season 2 might premiere next winter, in January 2020, given the current scheduled of the series. We believe that one year is more than enough for the Doga Kobo, to produce another 12-episode television adaptation.
However, there is one detail we should take into account. We still have not enough source material for another television round. Taking into account that Nanatsu Mukunoki, the author of the original manga series releases two volumes a year, the waiting could take much more time. Looks like we would have enough source material only by the end of 2020. As a result, if we add one more year for the production and promotion, we might see Wataten!: An Angel Flew Down to Me Season 2 only in January 2021. In our opinion, such a period is more likely for the possible release date.
Unfortunately, the only thing we can do now is only waiting for the official announcement from Doga Kobo. Luckily, we're tracking down the official sources. As soon as the Doga Kobo studio announces the renewal or cancelation of the series, we will update this page. Stay tuned for updates.
