Just hours ago Showtime announced that their most-watched longest running drama series Shameless had been renewed for its anniversary 10th season. Without a doubt, Shameless is an outstanding comedy-drama series on Showtime. Showtime also revealed that Production on season 10 will start in 2019. As a result, we expect the next season premiere next January, or, according to the better scenario in December 2019. Nonetheless, nothing exact has been said on the subject of the exact release date for Season 10 of Shameless.
In fact, we witness a significant drop in the viewing audience as for the television ratings of the series. The current season premiere has garnered only a bit more than 1.3 million viewers with a 0.47 key demo, losing thereby about 30% of viewers versus Season 9.
Talking about a reception, it was mostly average compared to the previous seasons of the show. On Rotten Tomatoes, the ninth season of Shameless holds a score of 6.5/10 among critics who provided a 63% approval rating. Meanwhile, the viewers have evaluated the current round of the show in 3.7 out of 5 with a 64% approval rating. The data presented by Metacritic showcased the more bad figures, only 2.4/10 among the viewers.
Nonetheless, despite all negative signals, Showtime made firm decision to pick up the show for another round. As mentioned above, the network has yet to announce the exact date for the upcoming premiere. But we'll update this page once Showtime reveals the additional data. Stay tuned for updates. We'll keep you informed.
What's The Show Shameless About?
The story focuses on Frank Gallagher and his dysfunctional family consisting of six children. Frank is an alcoholic who spends most of his time wandering from one bar to another. Meanwhile, Fiona is forced to raise her siblings since she is the eldest daughter. However, because of this Fiona dropped out high school when she was young. But despite all her efforts, Fiona can't replace a mother for her siblings. It's worth noting that sometimes Frank remembers about his duties as a father; but not for long. As a result, Frank's children, as a rule, are left on their own. Shameless
has its roots in the eponymous British television series.
