Despite the fact that renewal is not confirmed, there are plenty of factors pointing out another possible anime season. The most significant point is that there is enough source material for a next television adaptation. As you know, Classroom of the Elite is based on a Japanese light novel series of the same name, which consists of ten volumes. However, it's worth mentioning that Classroom of the Elite Season 1 covers only the first three books. As a result, at least seven volumes remained in order to create another television season, which might contain even 24 episodes. To be honest, the light novel might serve a source for at least two more 12-episode seasons.
Another key point capable of affecting the decision on renewal positively is the BD/DVD sales of the anime. For instance, 1,079 items of Classroom of the Elite Vol. 2 (Blu-ray) were sold in the period between November 6-12, 2017. Such sales statistics don't look impressive enough, though an overall gross should be enough for the decision on renewal.
In addition, also worth noting that Classroom of the Elite was a success among the viewers and fans. On MyAnimeList, the anime holds a score of 7.93/10 ~ 162,500 votes. So the only question remained is why the Lerche studio has yet to announce renewal. A sad fact, yet the answer is pretty simple. Lerche is not such a studio which might boast projects that contained more than one season, unless only maybe Assassination Classroom.
In our opinion, this is the only reason why Classroom of the Elite is still waiting for a next round. Looks like Lerche didn't manage to cover the expenses spent to produce the 1st season. Yet more likely the guys who stand behind the studio used anime with the only purpose, to promote the light novel series. In such a case, everything becomes clear.
In spite all the data presented above, we sincerely believe in renewal. No doubt, Classroom of the Elite deserves a 2nd season, or two more seasons. We know that there are some mismatches between the anime and light novel such as that in the original source there were 40 students in each class instead of 20, whereupon the question how the guys might be further split into pairs. However, such minor details shouldn't affect the storyline sufficiently, in the case of renewal.
Answering the question whether there will be Classroom of the Elite Season 2, we might suppose that the decision on renewal is still possible. As mentioned above, the Lerche studio nonetheless opted to pick up Assassination Classroom for another round. So we hope that they have enough mind to renew Classroom of the Elite as well. Therefore, we are looking forward to the official news from the studio.
Classroom of the Elite Season 2 Release Date
Even if Classroom of the Elite Season 2 ever happen, when will its release date? The question is truly complicated since we have no news on the subject since 2017. On the other hand, it's not such a big period, while talking about the world of anime.
The light novel series is till ongoing. The latest volume was issued on January 25, 2019, in Japan. Therefore, given the fact that it usually takes at least one year to produce a 12-episode anime season, we should expect Classroom of the Elite Season 2 release date someday in 2020. However, this is nothing but our assumption. We are tracking down the official sources in order to report the possible premiere date for a next season as soon as possible. Once the Lerche studio announces the renewal, we will update this page. Stay tuned for updates. We'll keep you informed.

Classroom of the Elite Storyline
Set in the foreseeable future, in Japan, the story unfolds at the Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced High School. This institution provides an opportunity for gifted students to make a step in the future. The Japanese government regards this high school as a chance to raise the next generation of elite students, who will be capable of representing the country in the future international arena.
Here, at the High School, the students have a lot of freedom since they can wear what they want and behave as they desire. Yet, in fact, there is a bit of injustice at the school since there are four types of classes, from A to D. As you may have guessed, the D class is the worst one.
The storyline focuses on Kiyotaka Ayanokouji, a shy boy who was unlucky to be among the students who are studying in the D-class. He is not successful at making friends. However, when Kiyotaka encounters Suzune Horikita, who believes that she has been mistakenly placed in D-class, his life was starting to improve.
