Netflix Picks Up The Rain For Season 3
Just a few hours ago, Netflix published a tweet on the network's official Twitter page, that The Rain Season 3 is set to premiere in 2020. No specific date has been announced so far, as well as no official synopsis for the upcoming round of the post-apocalyptic psychological thriller. The bad news is that The Rain Season 3 would be the series' last.

It may look strange, yet The Rain has been praised by critics, while the web series has received mixed reviews from viewers. And such a circumstance most likely served a reason for Netflix to cancel the post-apocalyptic web series after just three seasons. On Rotten Tomatoes, The Rain Season 1 holds a score of 7.45/10 and a 82% approval rating from critics, while viewers have rated the thriller at only 3.5/5, and have given a 61% rating. On Metacritic, The Rain has a rating of 65/100 and 5.5/10, among critics/viewers, respectively. On IMDb, the show's statistics look mediocre as well, 6.4/10 based on about 21,500 votes.
Summing up, it was clear that The Rain won't survive in the Netflix's lineup, and the question of cancellation was just a matter of time. Yet it's perfect that Netflix has given a chance to The Rain to return for a 3rd season.

The Rain Summary
Set in Scandinavia, The Rain depicts the aftermath of the end of the world as we know it, when a deadly virus struck the humankind. As a result of a mysterious rainfall, which wiped out almost all humans, Danish siblings Simone and Rasmus found their shelter in a bunker. Six years since, they went out from the bunker hoping to find their father who left them here.
Soon the siblings stumbled upon a group of young survivors, who travel across Denmark and Sweden, seeking for a safe place. Meanwhile, the siblings' father is seemingly the one who might shed the light on the events happened six years ago, and to provide the cure.
