The original manga series by Kaiu Shirai consists of twelve volumes comparable to the number of episodes in Season 1. However, at lest one volume has been issued after the season premiere, while one more volume was released on the eve of the series debut. So even if the 12-episode anime adaptation covers ten volumes of the original manga series, there still remain at least two volumes for another television season. Meanwhile, we doubt that the current season might adapt more than eight volumes. Thus, at least a half of the source material is ready for another television adaptation. At the same time, the debut season of The Promised Neverland has received the universal acclaim among the viewers, based on the data presented by MyAnimeList, 8.60 ~ 50,000 votes. Given such a favorable statistics of the first season of Yakusoku no Neverland, as well as the existence of the source material for another television adaptation, we tend to believe that Yakusoku no Neverland has a good chance to return for Season 2.
Set in the foreseeable future, the storyline of the anime follows the adventures of three orphans, Emma, Norman, Ray, living in a small orphanage house. Their life in the orphanage looks carefree and comfortable. Good food, clean clothes, and perfect environment, -- what else does an orphan require? The friends can do everything they wish, excepting only leaving the gates that connect the Grace Field House with the outer world. Yet one day, an orphan named Conny leaves the orphanage to be adopted. Emma and Norman were following her, because Conny had left her stuffed rabbit toy, Bernie. As a result, the guys discovered Conny dead, and learned thereby the shocking truth about the real purpose of the orphanage they living in. In fact, it turns out that human children are raised in that place as a source of food for demonic creatures. Now their miracle world is broken, and Emma and Norman are about to leave this "paradise" prison. Together with their friend Ray, the guys are going to reveal the truth hidden behind the decent facade of the orphanage, and discover the way how to escape with their siblings.
Yakusoku no Neverland Season 2 Release Date
Given the fact that Kaiu Shirai releases his works once a quarter, we tend to think that it might take at least a year to write the necessary amount of source material. As a result, the works might be finished next March. Therefore, we could expect The Promised Neverland Season 2 in January 2021. In any case, we are looking forward to the official news. Once CloverWorks announces their plans for another installment of the anime, we will update this page with new and actual data. Stay tuned for updates. We'll keep you informed.
