SONY Crackle Announced The Oath Season 2 Release Date
A SONY Crackle original web series The Oath has showcased mixed but mostly favorable results during its premiere in March. Of course, you were looking forward to the renewal. Luckily, just minutes ago, Crackle announced that The Oath had been renewed for its sophomore round. The decision was announced today at the network's presentation at Sony Headquarters in New York. Crackle has also emphasized that The Oath is the network's most-watched new original web series having the highest engagement of the viewing audience. In addition, the SONY spokesman has noted that the viewers positively react to The Oath, according to their study. It's noteworthy that Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson serves as executive producer of the crime drama series. As mentioned above, the response from critics and viewers was controversial. So, for instance, on Rotten Tomatoes, The Oath has received the universal acclaim among the viewers, with a score of 4.6/5 and a 90% approval rating. At the same time, on Metacritic, the reaction from the target audience was mostly mixed, 5.0/10, while Chris Barton (Los Angeles Times) has rated the first installment of The Oath at 30/100. An overall score of The Oath on IMDb looks average but favorable, 6.5/10 ~ 600 votes. Though we consider these statistics rather average, it appears that Crackle found the digits acceptable. The story focuses on a world of gangs which consist of those sworn to protect and defend. The series thereby explores the world of corrupt cops, which is unseen for the most of the people. The primary storyline follows Tom Hammond, a former leader of a gang known as The Ravens, which had consisted of cops. Upon release from jail, Tom finds his son, Steve, while he is replacing him as a leader of his gang. Meanwhile, the rival cop gang, The Vipers, managed to take over a pact with a drug dealer, Neckbone. At the same time, the FBI is about to destroy the plans of both gangs and put an end to the existence of any corrupt cops.
