Most likely you have already been watching NBC's freshman drama series, The Enemy Within, and now you're concerned about a possibility of Season 2. And the first thing we want you to know is that NBC has yet to announce the network's decision on the future of the series. Nonetheless, it's clear to us that The Enemy Within Season 2 is due to happen, and that's why we want to share with you our thoughts on the subject.
First, it's worth mentioning that The Enemy Within Season 1 has received mainly mixed reviews from critics. Though such indicator as critical response could affect the decision on renewal, a network is mostly relying on another key factor, such as a reception from the viewers. In case of The Enemy Within, the viewers were fully satisfied while watching the debut season of the show.
On Rotten Tomatoes, The Enemy Within Season 1 holds a score of 5.33/10 and a 43% approval rating from critics, while the viewers have rated the 1st season of the drama series at 4/5, as well as have given a 80% approval rating. On Metacritic, the critics' consensus was ambivalent, with a score of 55 out of 100. At the same time, an overall score of The Enemy Within on IMDb is above average, 7.2/10 based on over 3,300 votes.
In our opinion, the very important factor which is capable of affecting the decision of renewal in case of The Enemy Within is the television ratings of the series. The Enemy Within Season 1 has garnered 5.76 million viewers with a 1.2/6 key demographic rating/share. In the following episodes of the season, the viewing audience hasn't been dropped below the mark of 3.67 million viewers per episode.
Since NBC is the national broadcaster, these figures could be considered not impressive enough, yet the viewership is pretty enough for NBC to make a decision on renewal, at least we assume so. Summing up, in our opinion, all indications are that The Enemy Within will be returning for another installment in the network's next television season. To date, all we can do is just continue waiting for the official announcement.
The Enemy Within Season 2 Release Date
As mentioned above, The Enemy Within Season 2 is yet to be announced, however, we don't rule out the possibility of renewal, and, in turn, we tend to believe that NBC is about to pick up the show for a sophomore round. Thus, in the case of renewal, we are inclined to think that The Enemy Within might return for Season 2 next winter, in February 2020, given the current schedule of the series. However, we don't rule out a sooner premiere, which might take place this fall.
Therefore, in any case we are looking forward to the official announcement from NBC. We are tracking down all the news on the subject of The Enemy Within, that arrives from NBC. As soon as the network announces any additional data about the possibility of Season 2, as well as on the subject of a specific release date, we will update this page. So guys, stay tuned for updates. We will keep you informed.
