There is nothing certain about the BD/DVD sales of the franchise since the anime series in still on-air. However, it's clear that Kinema Citrus is about to produce another television season, given the availability of source material as well as positive response from the viewers.
The Rising of the Shield Hero describes the story of Naofumi Iwatani, who found himself in a parallel world together with three other guys to turn into the world's Heroes. When each of them has been summoned into this world, they were equipped with respective equipment. Naofumi thereby was unlucky to obtain the Legendary Shield, which is the mostly protective equipment, while all the rest acquired mainly attacking weapons. In spite of this, he went on a journey to explore this new world. Yet at the start of his adventures, Naofumi has got into troubles.
He is not so charismatic like the rest of Heroes, therefore he was nicknamed the weakest of them. Naofumi wasn't ready to be a hero. As a result, his companions left him alone. He thereby was robbed and convicted of rape. Now Naofumi is forced to continue his journey on his own and train by himself. Next, he accidentally met a slave girl, named Raphtalia. Teaming up together, the ill-fate Heroes started the way in search of trust, respect, and gratitude.
When Do We Expect Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari Season 2?
As mentioned above, the first installment of The Rising of the Shield Hero contains 25 episodes. As a result, we expect that the current season will be split into two cours of 12 and 13 episodes, respectively. So, since Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari is broadcast once a week by Wednesdays, we tend to think that the first cour is coming to an end on March 27, 2019. After, we have two possible scenarios. In the best case scenario, the season will be continuing, and thereby would come to an end on June 26, 2019. In such a case, we would have to wait until at least January 2020, before we see Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari Season 2. In the worst case scenario, the second cour might start in 2020. In such a case, we won't see the 2nd installment of the anime series until 2021.
In any case, we are looking forward to the official news from the Kinema Citrus studio. If the studio opts to renew The Rising of the Shield Hero for Season 2 earlier, we will update this page. Stay tuned for updates. We will keep you informed.
