Stranger Things: Season 4 Is Due To Happen, But Whether It Will Be The Last One
I bet you are wondering whether there will be Stranger Things Season 4 on the eve of the third season premiere. No doubt, Stranger Things caused a buzz back in 2016, when the premiere of the web series turned into a nostalgic fever. To be honest, in my opinion, Stranger Things Season 2 wasn't so impressive versus the series' debut season. But still, the one and only question hung in the air, whether there will be Stranger Things Season 4?
Back in 2017, when the Duffer Brothers were giving their exclusive interview to Vulture, one of them said "We're thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out." Yet, we should take into account that it was two years ago, and much water has flown under the bridge since that time. I think that the guys were so excited with their fame that they didn't think what were they talking about.
Today, Stranger Things is one of the most popular television/web series in the world, and I thereby doubt that the Duffer Brothers are going to stop producing more and more seasons of the series. In any case, in my opinion, Stranger Things Season 4 is just a matter of time. There should be at least one more season of Stranger Things. Isn't it clear?
As a rule, we in TV Date make a forecast, relying on the statistics of the previous season of a television series. However, in the case with Stranger Things, we don't even think that any forecast is required. Most critics have already managed to watch the full third season of the web series. And do you know what?
As expected, Stranger Things Season 3 has received critical acclaim, given the statistics provided by Rotten Tomatoes, with a score of 8.01/10 and a 93% approval rating. Have any of you doubted in such a reception? I bet none of you. And do you know what else? I bet 99% of you should rate Stranger Things Season 3 at least at 8 out of 10, isn't it?
If you decide to take a look at the results of Stranger Things Season 3 on Metacritic, you would see not so impressive statistics yet above average score of 71/100 from critics. Needless to say that an overall score of Stranger Things on IMDb is 8.9/10 to date, and it is based on about 604,000 votes.
Summing up, I have no doubt that Stranger Things Season 4 is due to happen. Of course, one may argue that the decision on renewal would mostly depend on the statistics of the upcoming season, yet who could dispute that everything points out that it should be above praise.
In my opinion, the more exciting question is how the Duffer Brothers are going to conclude the series, if we are talking about a Season 4, which should apparently become the series' last. I hope that we will see some clues in the upcoming, third season of the web series.

I don't want us in TV Date to support all these rumors that spread throughout the Internet regarding Stranger Things Season 4. A lot of reporters who work in various media outlets have already written a lot of articles on the subject of Stranger Things Season 4. Some of them claim that one Stranger Things cast member has exclusively leaked some details about Stranger Things Season 4, other claims that Stranger Things are to end with a movie after Season 4.
The only thing I want to share with you that all these reports are nothing but rumors. We, in TV Date don't want to spread any rumors. We used to confirm our forecasts with statistics or report the official news with a link to the source. As a result, only two guys and one global online video broadcaster are aware of whether or not Stranger Things would return for a fourth season. Therefore, we are looking forward to the official news from Netflix.
As soon as the network announces the renewal or even sets a specific release date for Stranger Things Season 4, we will update this page. Of course, we don't rule out that the Duffer Brothers could publish a leak on their official Twitter page, Instagram, or somewhere else. Stranger Things Season 4 Release Date
As mentioned above, Stranger Things Season 4 is yet to be announced, yet in spite of this we tend to believe that the announcement would follow soon. Therefore, in case of renewal, we should expect Stranger Things Season 4 in two possible periods, next fall, in October 2020, or in summer 2021, given the current schedule of the series.
You may have noted that a hiatus between Season 2 and 3 lasted for about two years. Such a gap was most likely due to the complications related to the filming process. It's not clear to date whether it should take a year or two to produce another season of Stranger Things, but we hope that the production won't last so long.
