Many doubted that Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou might have a Season 2. However, two OVAs were released within past two years, which points out that the anime series could soon obtain the next installment. Of course, we are aware of this hint in the twelfth episode, which reportedly confirms a sophomore season. However, there has been no official announcement on the subject in fact. Meanwhile, most of the fans are wondering whether or not Lerche & Seva studios are going to produce another installment of Monster Musume. Fortunately, there are plenty of things to discuss.
The main reason why the fans doubted regarding the second season, is that there wasn't enough source material for another television adaptation. However, as of today, the original manga series consists of thirteen volumes, and is currently ongoing, by the way. So the show's creators have enough data for a second television adaptation (or they need one more volume to be sure). Moreover, the BD/DVD sales of the series were impressive. In 2016, over 3,700 items were sold weekly. We consider this indicator as primary and foremost since precisely these numbers could illustrate the commercial success of any franchise. Eventually, this factor mostly affects the decision on renewal.
As for the demand of the target audience, it could be easily illustrated through the statistics. Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou has a score of 7.33/10 on MyAnimeList based on ~ 143,500 votes. The viewers of Crunchyroll have evaluated the anime at 4.4 out of 5 stars. Furthermore, numerous fans eagerly wait for the next installment and even reading the manga to learn more about this story. So, generally speaking, everything is ready for Season 2. Summing up, this anime has a pretty high rating among the target audience; there is enough source material for another television adaptation; the BD/DVD sales were excellent. Thus, we have every reason to believe that Monster Musume Season 2 could happen in the foreseeable future. The only question remained is when. We'll speculate on the subject below.
