Lethal Weapon: Whether There Will Be A Season 4?
Of course, you're concerned about the possibility of Lethal Weapon Season 4 since the show survived too many changes last season. And no doubt you want FOX to pick up the buddy cop series for another round. A sad fact, but FOX has yet to announce its decision on the future of Lethal Weapon, yet we tend to believe the odds are still high, no matter what.
Many of you were frustrated while learning that Seann William Scott is replacing Clayne Crawford in Season 3. And that's why Lethal Weapon has experienced a serious drop in the viewing audience in its third installment. Yet, as mentioned above, all of this couldn't serve a barrier for FOX to pick up Lethal Weapon for Season 4.
In order to determine is there going to be another television chapter of Lethal Weapon, we should first take a look at the television ratings of the recent third season. The season premiere has garnered 3.432 million viewers with a 0.82 key demo among adults (P18-49), the figure, which is 21.45% lower versus the same of Season 2. But still, the viewership looks pretty steady. The viewing audience even started to grow by the end of the season. We thereby don't think that the television ratings could might affect the decision on renewal negatively.
The thing which truly disturbs us is the reaction from the viewers. According to Rotten Tomatoes, most of the critics were impressed while watching Lethal Weapon Season 3, given a score of 8.15/10 and a 100% approval rating. However, if we take a look at the reaction from the viewers, they were mostly frustrated, taking into account a score of 2.5/5 and a 43% approval rating. On Metacritic, the 3rd round has received mixed reviews, with a score of 56/100.
Summing up, no doubt, all the changes with the cast have negatively affected the show, yet we don't think it might be a reason for cancellation. In our opinion, Lethal Weapon would remain in the FOX lineup for at least one more season. The situation with the show looks quite ambivalent, and most likely, FOX is about to give Lethal Weapon at least one more chance.
Lethal Weapon Season 4 Release Date
As mentioned above, Lethal Weapon Season 4 is yet to be announced. However, in the case of renewal, we should expect the upcoming season this fall, in September 2019, given the current schedule of the series.
Of course, we don't know how FOX is going to build its fall lineup, therefore, we are looking forward to the official confirmation of Lethal Weapon Season 4 and its exact release date. As soon as the network announces any additional details about the fourth installment of the police procedural drama, we will update this page. Stay tuned for updates. We will keep you informed.
Lethal Weapon Summary
Following the success of a well known eponymous motion picture, Lethal Weapon revolves around the adventures of two buddy cops, who fight crime on the hot streets of Los Angeles. Martin Riggs is still suffering from the recent demise of his wife and their child. Riggs desires to restart his life moving in LA. Here, in the LAPD, he is paired up with Roger Murtaugh, an experienced cop, who, however, recently survived a heart attack.
Initially, the guys can't co-work together. But over time, they become best friends. Riggs is risky, while Murtaugh tries to avoid various dangerous circumstances. Murtaugh is married and raises three children, after all. Despite the differences in their approaches, both cops successfully cope with criminals and keep the situation in the city under their control.
