CBS Announced Instinct Season 2 Release Date
Those of you who have been waiting for Instinct Season 2 may breathe a sigh of relief since CBS has picked up the police procedural series for another round, back in December 2018. This March, the network officially confirmed Instinct Season 2 release date, which is slated for Sunday, June 16, 2019 at 9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT. Little is known about Season 2 to date, yet CBS has revealed a brief synopsis for a sophomore round of the show.

According to the official synopsis, in the 2nd installment of Instinct, NYPD consultant Dylan Reinhart is reinstated after being put on leave, right on time, to join his partner, NYPD detective Lizzie Needham, in their new mission, the "Sleeping Beauty Killer." This is all we know about Instinct Season 2 so far.
It's worth noting that Instinct was a success during its debut season. The pilot episode has garnered over nine million viewers (9.05) with a 1.0/4 key demo/share among adults (P18-49). Besides, a sophomore episode has drawn already more than ten million viewers (10.16). No doubt, looking at such impressive statistics of Instinct Season 1, CBS's management decided to pick up the police procedural thriller for another round.
Nonetheless, also worth noting that the debut season of Instinct has received mostly weak reviews from critics and generally average reviews from the viewers. On Rotten Tomatoes, Instinct Season 1 holds a score of 5.36/10 and a 56% approval rating from critics, while the viewers have rated the freshman at 3.5/10, and given a 64% approval score. On Metacritic, Instinct counts only 53/100, with a mixed consensus from critics. On IMDb, Instinct looks just a bit above average with a score of 6.5/10 based on over 4,100 votes.
Summing up, we conclude that Instinct is a mediocre television show, which nonetheless ideally fits the CBS lineup. That's why the network's heads made the positive decision on renewal.

Instinct Summary
The story focuses on Dr. Dylan Reinhart, a former CIA operative, who is currently working as a professor and writes a best-selling book devoted to abnormal behavior, among other things. But one day, Dr. Dylan was forced to return to his operative work when a stubborn and tricky NYPD detective, Lizzie Needham, ask him to assist in the investigation of a chain of murders committed by a serial killer. Dr. Dylan will have to remember his professional skills and restore former ties in CIA to help Lizzie with this case. Over time, they both realize that together, they make the perfect team.
