Adult Swim has confirmed that Demon Slayer premieres on October 12, 2019, on Toonami. The respective announcement appeared on Toonami's official Facebook page. But those of you who have already streamed Demon Slayer on Crunchyroll or Hulu are no doubt wondering, whether there will be a Season 2 of the anime?
On April 4, 2019, AnimeNewsNetwork reported that Kimetsu no Yaiba will consist of 26 episodes, which would be split into two cours. Also worth noting that Kimetsu no Yaiba has received the universal acclaim during its premiere on the streaming services.
Talking about Demon Slayer Season 2, we're almost sure that it's just a matter of time, and below we want to explain why we believe so. First, it's worth mentioning that Demon Slayer is based on a Japanese manga series of the same name written by Koyoharu Gotooge, which has sixteen volumes to date.
And the good news is that the 17th volume will be issued on October 4, 2019. Koyoharu Gotooge thereby isn't going to stop working on the original manga. Given that the 1st round of Kimetsu no Yaiba premiered in April 2019, at least three volumes couldn't be included in the current television adaptation. We thereby now have at least a bit new source material for another television season.
Secondly, looks like the viewers have been fully satisfied with the debut episode, given the statistics on MyAnimeList. Kimetsu no Yaiba currently holds a score of 8.48/10 based on about 11,000 votes. Finally, let's talk about Ufotable. The studio as a rule picks up its projects for another round. In addition, it's worth noting that there are a lot of top-rated anime series that were made under the wing of Ufotable. The final point in our forecast could be the BD/DVD sales statistics, yet we should wait for it a little bit, at least until the first season is concluded.
Summing up, even despite Demon Slayer is currently airing, already now we might make a bold assumption that Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) Season 2 is just a matter of time. However, also worth mentioning that in the case of anime, the term "time" could last years. Nonetheless, we hope that Ufotable is serious about their new anime project and the waiting won't last so long.
And of course, all the data above are just our forecast based on the statistics. No doubt, we should wait for the official announcement from Ufotable. As soon as the studio reveals any data about renewal, we will update this page. Stay tuned for updates. But please, don't be so naive while reading unreliable sources and media outlets that promise you that they know Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) Season 2 release date. There even is no official announcement of a next season so far. Therefore, be careful!
