Date A Live Season 4: How Long Should We Wait For It

Date a Live

You likely wonder how long might it take for the J.C.Staff studio to release Date A Live Season 4. Six years have passed between the series premiere and its 3rd installment. Finally, on January 11, 2019, we have been witnessing Date A Live Season 3 premiere. Most of the fans even refused to believe in renewal. Unfortunately, the world of anime works such a way. As a result, each time your favorite anime series comes to an end you must wait so long, before a studio opted to pick up the series for another round.

Date A Live Season 3 comes to an end March 29, 2019. That's why we think that it's time to talk about a next season. First, please bear in mind that Date A Live Season 4 is yet to be announced, and even more so, no release is confirmed. Don't even think of believing those media outlets that promise you the upcoming premiere be released in 2020 for sure. All such data are nothing but fake news.

At the same time, even though Date A Live Season 4 is not confirmed, the renewal is still possible. The first thing which points out the further decision on renewal is Date A Live Vol. 20, the latest volume of the eponymous light novel, which was issued on March 20, 2019. The light novel series, thereby is still ongoing. Besides, we doubt that at least two more previous volumes were adapted in the current, 3rd season of Date A Live.

In other words, we now have some source material for another anime adaptation. Of course, there is not enough chapters in the recent three volumes, and we need at least two or even three more volumes for another television series. Yet the odds on renewal are rising in such a case.

In addition, it's worth mentioning that the current installment of Date A Live was a success among the viewers. On MyAnimeList, the 3rd season holds a score of 7.29 based on about 12,000 votes.

Date A Live Season 4 Release Date

Now, let's talk about the possible release date for Season 4. As mentioned above, in our opinion, Date A Live Season 4 is just a matter of time. Yet this is nothing more than our opinion. No official announcement has been made. However, in the positive case scenario, we would likely have to wait until 2021, at least. The reason is that according to the schedule, Koshi Tachibana releases two volumes per year.

Let's imagine that 17-18 volumes were required to produce the three previous seasons. As a result, each season covers six volumes. We need thereby at least three new volumes of the original light novel series. One of them will be issued this year, while the two remained will be released only in 2020. In fact a studio requires at least a year to produce a 12-episode season. Therefore, Date A Live Season 4 might premiere only by the end of 2020. Meanwhile, the most likely period for the possible upcoming premiere is January 2021.

All the data above is nothing but our forecast, which is however based on facts not rumors. No doubt, we are looking forward to the official announcement of renewal. As soon as AIC Plus+, Production IMS, J. C. Staff, or any other studio announces the renewal or even the exact premiere date, we will update this page.

By the way, J.C.Staff, the studio, which produced the third season of Date A Live is more reputable when it comes to renewal unlike Production IMS, for instance. So guys, the odds are high. Stay tuned for updates. We'll keep you informed.
