Set in the foreseeable future, in Los Angeles, Colony focuses on one family, which is torn apart because of the alien invaders. As a result of the extraterrestrial expansion, the society is split into two camps. Some residents opted to collaborate with the invaders, while the rest went underground to create the resistance. Of course, the rebels feel pressure from aliens and those who joined their rows. The show's protagonist Will Bowman and his wife, Katie, faced a challenge when their son, Bram, has been separated from them during the invasion. Each of them has a chance to return their son home. However, both use various approaches to solve the issue. So, Will opted to join the invading faction in order to rescue his son. Meanwhile, Katie doesn't want to accept Will's decision. As a result, she found her own way to retrieve her son back by joining the rebels.
