American Horror Story

Just a few minutes ago, Ryan Murphy announced on his official Instagram page the title for American Horror Story Season 9. According to the announcement, the upcoming season will be entitled "AHS 1984," and is set to premiere this fall. No exact release date has been announced as of yet. It's clear now that the show's storyline will be continuing with reference to the classic 80s slasher movies.

A teenage girl is trying to escape a presumable serial killer, who is pursuing her. The girl is apparently managed to find a shelter, yet a knife penetrates the door, behind which she is attempting to hide herself. Shortly after, we see a typical 80s styled title "AHS 1984." That's all we know about the upcoming storyline. However, The Wrap representatives have been trying to connect with FX as well as 20th Century Fox Television, but have received no comments. The only detail, we know so far is that Emma Roberts is coming back for American Horror Story Season 9.

It's worth noting that the current, eighth season of AHS subtitled "Apocalypse" has become the most-watched program on television on the night of its premiere in all key adult demographics. The season premiere has drawn about 3.5 million viewers with a 1.45 key demo among adults (P18-49). In total, the premiere has garnered 5.7 million viewers, according to the data presented by FX.

As expected, the 8th season premiere has received the universal acclaim. On Rotten Tomatoes, American Horror Story: Apocalypse holds a score of 6.93/10 and a 75% approval rating among critics, while the viewers have rated the eighth season at 4.2/5 (81% approval rating). On Metacritic, the current season of the show has received generally favorable reviews, 63/100 and 7.8/10, among critic/viewers, respectively.

American Horror Story Season 9 "1984" Release Date

As mentioned above, American Horror Story Season 9 is set to premiere this fall. Traditionally, all the previous seasons of AHS premiered in September or October. We tend to believe that FX isn't going to change the network's schedule, and therefore, American Horror Story Season 9 will premiere on September 2019. Nonetheless, we are looking forward to the official announcement from FX. As soon as the network announces the exact date, we will update this page. Stay tuned for updates.
